Riot releases new patch notes 9.20
Even though Riot is preparing for Worlds for spectacular 10 year anniversary, the managed to release a patch with smaller changes to certain champions and couple of mini reworks.Nothing crazy added,as the already mentioned they are keeping new stuff for season 10.Garen,Shaco and Viktor are upgraded to new League standards,as their kits are already very much outdated. Also three new skins were added: High Noon Ashe, Darius, and Hecarim Like always there is some backslash, and it is same with this patch.Players are angry with Spear of Shojin unbalance as well as with Riven buffs who remains un nerfed, while she already sits at huge pick rate and winrate in Maters+.You can read full patch notes here.
President of Blizzard Entertainment says they are still PC company first
If someone told me 2 years ago Blizzard would need to clarify itself as PC company i would say the went mad.But since the disaster in 2018 at E3 with Diablo Immortal, and long speech of how company is making shift towards mobile platforms,it is no surprise Blizzard sent some clarification to reassure its trusted fans, which was in my opinion definitely needed.Diablo Immortal received stream of negative impressions (just look at those numbers) even from non Diablo players.
In interview with Gamespot, J. Allen Brack ,the president of Blizzard Entertainment looked back at at some of crucial parts of why did they fail with Diablo Immortal announcement: “I think the thing that we did a poor job of when we announced Diablo: Immortal was contextualizing what we think the future can be and what we think of mobile in particular. And I also think the key thing that was lost, that we did a poor job double emphasizing, is we are a PC developer first. And then we look for other platforms that we think are awesome that can support the types of game play experiences that resonate with the type of games and values that we want to put forth into the world. And the example of that is, there was a little bit of a backlash when we [announced] that we were going to port Diablo 3 to console as well .
It seems to me that Blizzard representative is overtly ignorant and doesn`t know much about its fanbase. It is true Diablo Immortal will attract players who play mobile games anyways, but i think PC players will not so casually pass to mobile gaming as he has in his mind.
Doom Eternal delayed to March
In recent Twitter post,Bethesda Softworks announced the changes to release date of Doom Eternal.Game will officially be released on March 20th, 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.Bethesda says the are stepping back a little to polish the game and also add new mod called Invasion mod.Mod will be free to download for every player that pre-purchased the game. It allows players to take on the role of a demon invading other players’ games. Switch players will need to wait a little longer as Bethesda did not announce actual date of Switch release. With new release date set,Bethesda opened gates to great competition,as Final Fantasy VII Remake and Watch Dogs:Legion are set to release 2 weeks before Doom Eternal.
Doom Eternal release will also include the Doom 64,the cult followed version of game from Nintendo 64,which was released in 1997.Even though game has outdated graphics, which can not be comparable to newer games, the game defines the Doom franchise and shows what it really is.Mind less horror shooter with a lot of blood and scary creatures.Fans who pre ordered the game didnt welcome the change ,as it is sets back the release date almost 2 months.Even though many fans will have to agree that later release is definitely better that too early release with almost beta like version .We all know what happened with No Mans Sky,and we don`t wont to go through that again.2019 is already full of new release dates for games,so this change seemed just right for many hardcore games as well as casual players.
